A Different Kind of Language

What is a different kind of language?
Accents apart,
a different kind of language
emerges.
Born into inheritance.
Names.
Origins.
Stories.
Beliefs.
Dreams.
Silence.
For a time,
we learn
the languages
we are given.
Belonging.
Achievement.
Approval.
Measure.
Then...
another vocabulary
appears.
Quietly.
Not through instruction.
Through observation.
Through wandering.
Through wonder.
Not every language
is spoken.
Some
are carried.
Every experience
leaves
a stroke.
Character,
like form,
begins
long before
it appears.
Some things
cannot be counted.
Only cultivated.
A heart's
true net worth.
Perhaps
every life
develops
its own language.
A different kind of language.
